112: Dirty in the Woods

Our shoot for Sunday Photo Funday found itself coming to fruition at the tail end of an adventure in camping. This weekend we hung our tent stakes at the Eastern Kansas gem called Elk City State Park. We had visited before so Nicky and I knew that we wanted to capture some of the striking natural visuals.

I was dead set on using some of the rocky crags and outcroppings that jut through different areas of the park. I found a very angular setting to couple with Nicky's jawline and the shape that her bandana made. Nicky's shoreline shot got a nice burst of mid-morning light while framing me in between the limbs of a fallen branch. With each image we specifically used the terrain as the main emphasis and solely used natural lighting.

We hiked ourselves ragged and experienced some amazing outdoor wonderlands. Thanks Elk City!
