117: Earth Day Play

In honor of Earth Day we applied layers of clothing, stuffed our faces with eggs and doughnuts and headed into our piece of the earth...the urban wilderness. We wandered to the the Arkansas River that runs through our wonderful city of Wichita, Kansas. We didn't know what we where looking for in our SPF so we just kept our camera close and our eyes open for something that wowed us.
We both found our best images when we were fighting the wind and on our way back to the car.
We discover these odd evergreen trees with a bunch of sea anemone typed seeds attached to the branches. Crazy world we live in! The dark green foliage with the orange "anemones" made a great background for Chris' image of me. A short 35mm lens was a lightweight and lovely tool for our photos. For my image I literally waited on the wind to get just the right shot. The budding tree limbs swirled about in a very pleasing blur around Chris.
With our boy in tow our Earth Day adventure ended in hot chocolate and a movie about monsters.
