116: Rainbow Disc

This week, Nicky and I wanted to task ourselves with shooting without pro studio lighting. So we abandoned the studio entirely and shot these on the fly. To get light to colorfully bend to our wills, we used a cheap trick and some ambidextrous skills in a dark room. With a camera in our right hand we used our left claw to pinch our light source, a bright cellphone light and a bowed CD. Playing with how far the CD would bend and at what angle created an amazing display of reflected colors and shapes. This simple and cheap technique ended up giving us a sea of striking and beautiful images to choose from. Both of us took quite a while to decide just which image we loved the absolute best. So much fun color!
