111: Pretty Pink Pack Rats

As Chris and I try to get back into the swing of SPF, we talked about doing this only bi-weekly. But, as the wee hours of Sunday morning approached we quickly talked each other out of slacking on this previous passion. So it’s back to creating at full steam, every Sunday!

Along with the other great changes in our lives, we also ending up purchasing a unique vintage home. I’m sure the green and orange 70’s wallpaper in the kitchen and the pink-swan themed bathroom along with the teal shag carpeting in the master bedroom would look completely hideous to some buyers. We instantly fell in love with all these quirky surprises. One of these surprises being the amazing storage cabinets in our basement. The previous owner decided that the pretty pink color would be a great base. We adore the storage that they provide and also dig the great visual lines that they create. The weird pink color is just an added bonus!

“But what about the funky shape of the picture?” you may be asking yourself. It’s a mirror from a projection TV that a friend thoughtfully offered to us a few years back. We chose black and white striped outfits mostly to keep neutral next to the pink color.

Our biggest challenge was finding the right angle for the mirror to highlight the subject. We lit a green set with one soft box and let the area behind the mirror just fall black.
