Today's post is all about our t-shirts. Though Chris and I are well past the age of cartoon clad bed sheets and matching jammies, we still have a love for our favorite cartoon characters. We kept the shots simple (bad hair and all) and let the accessories steal center stage.
Chris knows his Ninja Turtles. He can tell you who wore what colored eye mask and which weapon they each used, and on and on. Thus he would, as a grown man, have a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle shirt... and it's green! A few bands cut from a thrift shop kids red shirt find themselves placed in the proper spots and he was set for the shoot, Raphael style. We figured out an advantage to having a small studio with white walls. You can bounce light off any wall and get a pretty glowing light reflecting on the subject. This was a three light set up and we used the Canon 50mm 1.8 so we could keep the t-shirts close to the viewer.
Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite movies. The toothy grin was a left over from another shoot and was an easy match to the shirt.
